Very astonishing in that recording is the absence of inopportune applause such as those one generally undergoes in so many opera houses, especially with Italian works, which are now nothing, but boring successions of arias and "Bravo!" or "Uuh!". For that reason I decided long time ago not to attend Italian operas any longer. But look! in this DVD you haven't got a single interruption by the audience; nothing, but music! Isn't it great? My warmest congratulations to the producers and to Zeffirelli's staff!
