Some of the pictures on display here have been gathered on the website of Cannes' Tourist Office thanks to a nice hostess of that board. Other images were downloaded from other sites, beginning with that from Hitchcock's Rear Window, starring Grace Kelly and James Stewart. By the way, a lot of people (mostly journalists, who have never been abroad) consider the Champs-Elysées the world's most beautiful avenue. Maybe! If there were not all those polluting cars and all the pick-pockets! But above all, there are two things that I miss a lot in that neighbourhood: hills or low mountains to hike on in order to keep your figure, and something like a large water body; fresh or salt water is not a problem, the most important thing being the opportunities to go bathing or windsurfing. To be the most beautiful avenue in the world the Champs-Elysées just need to be near a lake or a sea and a range of low mountains. But look! That is exactly what they have got there, on the Mediterranean Riviera! Let's glance on Cannes, Côte d'Azur, home of the surely world's biggest film festival ... |
